Inauguration the Command and Control Center CCC at CPO
Police Command and Control Centre (PCCC) at Central Police Office Peshawar was inaugurated today by the Inspector General of Police, Salah-ud-Din Khan Mehsud and Hoaliang Xu, the United Nations Assistant Secretary General and Director, United Nations Development Programme for Asia and Pacific.
For the speedy response to the public disorders and security threats UNDP supported the establishment of Data Analysis Centre (DAC) at KP Central Police Office funded by European Union. The DAC consist of 2 Halls: Hall 1 - is the operation room for quick collection, processing and dissemination of crime and public safety related data for informed decision making; and Hall 2 - Command and Control Centre to monitor and deal with crises through secure real-time audiovisual communication with field commanders including on mega event security planning and operations.
Inauguration ceremony was also graced with the presence of the United Nations Resident Coordinator, Humanitarian Coordinator and Resident Representative of UNDP, Neil Buhne, Country Director UNDP Pakistan, Ignacio Artaza, Programme Manager SRLP, Jakhongir Khaydarov, International Policing Specialist UNDP Sub-office Paul Norman, National Policing Officer, Muhammad Quraish Khan and other representatives from UNDP and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.
State of the art Command and Control Centre (CCC) consisting of two portions: Situation Room and Presentation Theatre. Moreover, the Situation Room is used as a conference room to monitor and deal with crises and to conduct secure communications with outside filed commanders. It is equipped with secure, advanced communications equipment, while the presentation theatre is used for debriefing purpose for the District Police Officer (DPO) and Regional Police Officers on mega event security planning and operations.
