IGP KP Mr.Salah-ud-din Khan,has said that Mardan Region Police are playing a pivotal role in the war against terror and other crimes and due to its unprecedented sacrifices peace has been restored in the province.
The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Khan Mehsood has said that Mardan Region Police are playing a pivotal role in the war against terror and other crimes and due to its unprecedented sacrifices peace has been restored in the province.

This, he said, while addressing a police Darbar in Mardan police line today which was largely attended by police officials of different unit and section. Regional Police Officer Muhammad Alam Shinwari, DPOs Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera and Charsadda and other high ranking police officers were also present on this occasion. The Provincial Police Officer informed that the war against terror has not yet over and efforts are being made to equip and further strengthen the force so as to meet the impending challenges in a befitting manner. The IGP disclosed that police and prosecution department have jointly framed a new law which will be enacted very soon with mutual consultation of all stakeholders. The IGP also informed that Police Act 2017 is being implemented with break neck speed, Provincial District Safety Commission and complaint authority are being established which will pave the way for impartial and responsible policing in the province. He further added that steps adopted for improvement of policing in the last three to four years were provided legal cover through Police Act due to which police has become free from outside and illegal pressure which will ultimately bring improvement in the performance of the force. The IGP further revealed that efforts are being made for better training of the force and arming it with latest equipments and technology so as to enable the force to deliver to the people and win the hearts and minds of the public. The IGP directed the force jawans to adopt positive attitude with the public everywhere and get their required support for elimination of crime from the society. The IGP directed the force jawan to perform its duty as a worship and reminded that reward and punishment will go side by side together in the force. He also maintained that he was well aware of the confronting problems of the force jawans and all their problems including medical bill will be solved on priority basis. The IGP said that better law and order in the province was due to the matchless sacrifices of police Shauhadda and special directives have been issued to all RPOs and DPOs for solution of problems of heirs of police shuhadda on priority basis. He said that establishment of Dispute Resolution Councils were as per our tradition and culture and due to it petty dispute are mutually being resolved amicably. The IGP further added that the purpose of establishment of Police Access Services and Police Assistance Lines was to enhance public supervision over police and make police answerable and thus restore the public confidence and directed the force officers and jawans to adopt steps for combating terrorism and other crime with active support of the public. In the Darbar the IGP awarded police officers and jawans who excelled against the outlaws in line of duty from time to time. The IGP also met with the heirs of police shuhadda and informed himself about their confronting problems and directed the concerned police high ups to solve their problems an priority basis.
