IGP KP Salahuddin Khan Mehsood addressing the officers selected for Elite refresher course
The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Khan Mehsud has directed police officers to fully equip themselves with latest training and make best use of it in the field.

This, he said, while addressing the 17 police officers selected for the 1st Refresher Elite Course at Central Police Office today. DIG training Muhammad Karim Khan was also present on this occasion. It merits mention here that Refresher Elite Course has been introduced for the first time in the history of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police for the rank of ASPs and DSPs. The IGP addressed and briefed the participants about the importance of this course for their career and better police management on professional lines. The IGP reminded the participants that this course was a backbone for their professional career and directed them to learn more and more during training and make best use of it in the field so as to ensure best policing to the people. They were further directed to adopt diagnostic and problem resoling approach and serve the people to the best of their capabilities. The IGP termed the training as life blood for the professional career of the force officials and vowed that uniformed policy would be put in place for the in-service training for every rank officer and jawan and these courses would be mandatory for their onward promotion to the next rank. The IGP hoped that through this capacity building course, the professional capacity of police officers will be enhanced to high standard. This course included Physical Efficiency Training, Weapons Firing, Operational Tactics, Security and Protection, Counter Terrorism Tactics, Mock exercise, First Aid and Communication Skills.
