IGP KP directed the police high-ups to ensure fool prof security measures regarding maintaining of law & order in the Holy Month of Ramazan
The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salah Uddin Khan Mehsood has directed Police high ups to ensure fool proof security measures for maintenance of law and order during the holy month of Ramazan and preempt and prevent all type of terrorists and saboteur’s activities well in time. These special directives were given to all Regional Police Officers and District Police Officers throughout the province in a circular issued from CPO today. They have been directed in the circular to tighten the noose around the nick of terrorists, further improve their intelligence network, keep close vigilance on the militants organization and fanatic elements, establish in-lets and out-lets of each and every city and carry out special checking on these points without causing any embarrassment to the citizen. The IGP further directed the police high ups to take special measures for safety and security of important national installations, personalities, worships places, markets, banks, hospitals, petrol pumps, railway stations, airport and other potential targets. They have further been directed to take security measures for those offering their prayers at mosques and other worship places especially during Fajar and Taraweeh time. The police officials were also directed to carry out checking of hotels, inns and guest houses for security purposes. Police high ups were also directed to make journey safe for the commuters on all important main roads and high ways and increase their foot and mobile patrolling on these and prevent and preempt any attempt of robberies and dacoties on it. It has also been directed to completely ban brandishing and displaying of all kinds of arms and weapons and carry out effective security measures after sun set. The IGP also directed for stringent security measures for the protection of life and honour of people at all public places and parks. They have further been directed to adopt security measures at all shopping centers especially for protection of women customers and deploy plain clothes personnel beside routine policing to effectively curb the menace of purse and mobile phone snatching incidents. The IGP also directed to launch a well calculated drive against the professional beggars and they should not be allowed to beg together outside the worship places. In special circular, traffic police have also been directed to ensure smooth flow of traffic especially during rush hours and Iftari time and traffic police should open fasting on duty spot. The IGP also directed the police high ups to further mobilize public against miscreants, get their required support against criminals. SDPOs and SHOs have been directed to carry out patrolling during the peak hours and congregation time and ensure maximum and fool proof security to the potential targets of terrorism at the hands of religious fanatics. They have also been directed to maintain strict vigilant during rush hours, Iftar, Traweeh, Sehri and Fajar times by adequate police deployment at all important points. All SDPOs/SHOs have further been directed to check the duty points of police personnel during Iftar time round the clock and remain in the field for this purpose. They have also been directed to fully mobilize all Rescue 15 and Quick Response Unit, Rider Squads and work out proper contingency plan in all districts. No laxity will be tolerated by any official in performing of security duties, the circular concluded.
