KP Police PAL performance for 1st five months of 2018
The Police Assistance Lines have facilitated 4754 citizens in everyday police related issues throughout the province in the first five months of the current year. According to details during this period a total of 908 cases of Traffic License and Excise Documentation were verified which include 740 Traffic License in Buner, 94 in Chitral and 69 in Lower Dir. Similarly 2064 Computerized National Identity cards were verified to the applicants which include 1080 in Nowshera, 850 Buner and 130 in Lower Dir. Likewise Police Assistance Lines throughout the province issued police character and clearance certificates to 842 govt servants. Abbottabad stood first in the list with the figure of 350, Karak 2nd with 304 and Kohat 3rd with the tally of 141. Moreover the PALs also delivered to a great extent in respect of legal advice to the aspirants and a grand total of 940 persons were given legal advice as per their confronting issue which include 391 in Lower Dir, 254 in Swat and 211 in Buner. It may be recalled that Police Assistance Lines have been established in every district headquarters of the province keeping in view the troubles and difficulties faced by an ordinary citizen vis a vis his/her everyday matters pertaining to police department. The project aims to redress the general public’s grievance about the presumed reluctance and hesitation of local police station staff with regards to everyday minor issues. The Police Assistance Lines is offering services in theft reporting, lost item reporting, extortion, tenant information reporting, CNIC verification, vehicle verification, police character verification, police security clearance certificate, child lost and found and free legal advice to the general public. It merits mention here that the burden of small/petty issues on police stations particularly on courts has been reduced to a great extent with the establishment of these Police Assistance Lines. Owing to its resounding success and the ever increasing trust, the people of the province have welcomed the establishment of Police Assistance Lines and benefitting from it by approaching to it in large number.
