IGP KP visited Imam Bargah in Peshawar Saddar
The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Khan Mehsood today visited Imam bargah situated in Peshawar Saddar to review security arrangements for peaceful observance of Muharram. The IGP went round different sections of the Imam bargah and inspected and reviewed in detail the security steps taken for peaceful observance of Muharram. Chief Capital City Police Peshawar Qazi Jami-Ur.Rehman and SSP Operations Peshawar briefed the IGP about the security managements and live monitoring of the mourn processions through CCTV installed in various parts of the city. The IGP expressed satisfaction over the steps taken by the police and issued more necessary instructions to the police high ups present on this occasion. The IGP also met with elders of Ahle Tashie and exchanged views with them about the security arrangements adopted by the police for the Imam bargah. Leaders of Ahle Tashie expressed full satisfaction over the adopted security measures and assured their full cooperation for peaceful observance of Muharram. The IGP also visited Army Control Room established there where he was briefed with the help of maps and charts about the Muharram security steps. The IGP also met with Army officers and the officials of other departments who were performing duty there and held in high esteem their efforts for peaceful observance of Muharram. Talking with the media men on the occasion, the IGP pointed out that best coordination exist amongst Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, Pak Army, Frontier Corps, Frontier Constabulary, civil administration and Intelligence Agencies and joint search and strike operation are being carried out on intelligence based information of which better results are coming. The IGP informed that fool proof security arrangements had been finalized and all necessary security equipments have been provided to the districts where Muharram processions to be taken out. The IGP further revealed that Muharram security steps are being adopted with consultation and active support of sects and general public and hoped that Muharram would be observed with due reverence in a peaceful and congenial atmosphere. The IGP reiterated its pledge that any misadventure of any miscreants group will be averted with iron hands. Chief Capital City Police Qazi Jamil-Ur-Rehman, SSP Operations Peshawar Javed Iqbal also accompanied the IGP on this occasion.
