A Group of 12-Member of SMC met with the PPO
• Senior and Mid Career Management Courses attended a briefing on policing in KP. • A 24 members delegation called on IGP Salahuddin Khan Mehsood. • IGP briefed the participants in detail and answered their questions satisfactorily. A 12-member participants each of Senior Civil Officers of different occupational groups of 24th Senior Management Course (SMC) and 26th Mid Career Management Course Lahore attended a briefing on Policing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at CPO Peshawar on Monday. The participants were briefed in detail with the help of charts about policing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They were informed about the organizational structure, functioning and activities, managements practices, major achievements and challenges for the organization and its future plans. The participants were also told about the police performance against criminals, militants, working condition and confronting challenges. The members of both groups were also briefed on the institutional reforms i.e establishment of Counter Terrorism Department, Rapid Response Force, Canine Unit, BD Units at each Regional level, Geo Tagging, enactment of various laws, PAL, PAS and Specialized Schools. The participants were briefed about the performance of Dispute Resolution Councils due to which the ratio of murder was dropped down to 24% in the province. Similarly they were also briefed about the safe city project for protecting the city, in detail and were also informed about Police Act 2017, its implementation, better service delivery to the public and enhanced capacity of the force. They were also informed about the militancy in the province and the steps taken by police to halt menace of terrorism. In light of detailed briefing the members of both groups asked various questions from the IGP Salahuddin Khan Mehsood which were answered to their entire satisfaction. The members of both groups equally appreciated the performance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police especially against terrorists on the face of valumonous challenges and limited resources and thanked the IGP and his team for comprehensive briefing. Later, Shields were also exchanged on this occasion. Both the groups are now-a-day on country wide field study tour in connection of their courses respectively.
