A high level meeting on rationalization of police strength in the newly merged tribal districts was held at CPO Peshawar. The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Khan Mehsood presided over the meeting. The meeting thread barely discussed the important professional matters in this regard including police strength, financial implications etc.
Additional IGP Headquarters, DIGs and other concerned police high ups largely attended the meeting. The participants of the meeting discussed the rationalization of strength requirement for induction of police in the new tribal districts keeping in view its financial implications, population and peculiar security dynamics of erstwhile FATA. Likewise new recruitment criteria and phases, levies induction criteria and method and Khasadarâ€™s future/induction in light of the proposals already presented by different units heads also came under discussion in the meeting. The IGP directed the participants to further expedite their efforts for introducing all policing matter in the newly merged tribal districts with more vigor and professional zeal and spirit. They were also directed to take all stakeholders into confidence and give final shape to the report with their consultation and aspiration and submit it to him in the next meeting.
The IGP also directed the participants to promote merit based-oriented policing and strictly discourage the Safarish culture by awarding due punishment to those seeking lucrative postings. They were further directed to serve the people to the best of their capabilities without political affiliation and dispose of all inquiries strictly adhering to merit and quick dispensation of justice. It has also been directed on the occasion that National Action Plan should be implemented in its true essence as well as police operational guidelines should be followed in every police action and raid. The IGP pointed out that registering fake FIR was a heinous crime and warned that no one would be spared found involved in this shame full act.
The IGP also directed for result-oriented action against the gangs involved in all sort of crime i.e murder, attempted murder, dacoity, robbery, gambling and crime against property. On this occasion the IGP also informed that very soon he will visit each and very district of the province and will personally chair the crime meeting there and will give line of action on the occasion accordingly.
