The 98th passing out parade at Police Training College Hangu.
The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Khan Mehsood has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police has written a new cheaper of bravery and gallantry acts with their blood in the world history by offering thousands of sacrifices of every rank officer and jawan in the ongoing war against terrorists.
This, he said, while presenting welcome address on the occasion of 98th passing out parade at Police Training College Hangu today. A total of 676 officers and jawans passed out in the parade which included 138 upper course, 300 intermediate course and 238 PASIs. Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan was chief guest on this occasion. Provincial ministers, Additional IGPs, Commandant Elite Force, Commandant FRP, Commandant PTC Hangu, DIGs and other civil and police high ups largely attended the function. The IGP informed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police stood aloof at national and international forum due to its valour, courage and professional commitment added that its jawans performed valuable services in defense of the nation by fighting the war against terror as front line force. The IGP pointed out that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police force was discharging its duty in extremely risky and difficult situation. However, he further went on to say, that it was a matter of great pride and satisfaction that police never showed any retreat and always fought from the front and thus become stumbling block in the way of terrorists. He said that no force of the country could match the bravery and courage of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and he was a proud commander of a proud force. The IGP informed that extending policing to the newly merged tribal districts was a gigantic task, however Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police was capable enough and fully ready to overcome this challenge as per attached expectations of the local people. Referring to the police reforms, the IGP said that large scale new reforms have been introduced in the force owing to which the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police has become a role model for the rest of the country. He said that police has its own internal accountability system and reward and punishment go parallel in the force. Similarly Interaction between public and police exist round the clock through a well devised system added that he himself was just one click away from the people in this system. The IGP further informed that police Shuhadda package has been enhanced as per requirements of heirs of police Shuhadda and the presence of more than 200 ASIs in the today’s parade was testimony of this fact. The IGP also informed that every efforts are being made to further strengthen the force and in this connection the manpower of the force would be increased and its jawan will be equipped with latest training facilities. The IGP directed the passed out jawans to make best use of the training acquired in this august institution for the real service of the down trodden community in the field and win the hearts and minds of the general public through exemplary behavour and get their needed support against the outlaws and anti-social elements. The IGP held in high esteem the standard of the parade and appreciated the continuous efforts of the commandant and training instructors in this regard. The chief guest awarded cash reward and commendation certificates to the jawans who excelled in the training. The chief guest also assured that all confronting problems and difficulties of the PTC Hangu would be solved on priority bases.
Later on, the IGP presented a police shield to the chief guest.
