The Corps Commander Peshawar Lt General Mazhar Shaheen paid a visit to police headquarters at Central Police Office today. On arrival to Central Police Office Peshawar he was received by Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Khan Mehsood. A smart contingent of police presented guard of honour to him. He placed the floral wreath on the monument of police shuhadda in Central Police Office. Later on, he met with the IGP in the latter office. They discussed mutual professional matters in the context of war against terror. On this occasion, the IGP eulogised the excellent working relationship developed by the Corps Commander between police and army. The IGP appreciated the success of operation Zarb-e-Azab and informed that due to effective intelligence sharing and meticulous police planning, more than 1300 hard core militants, who fled the tribal area in the wake of Army operation Zarbe-Azab were arrested by police thereby denying any base to them in the settled area and ensuring long term peace. The IGP also informed the corps commander about the newly introduced reforms in the police force, the complaint management system and monitoring activities of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police. The IGP further informed the Corps Commander that exemplary harmony exist between Pak Army and Police in the war against terror and both were offering equal sacrifices for the safety and integrity of the mother land. On this occasion, the Corps Commander Lt General Mazhar Shaheen appreciated the sacrifices of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police in the war against terror and the endeavours of the IGP Salahuddin Khan Mehsood for organising police on professional lines. He categorised Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police as the most forward looking and responsive force of the country. The corps Commander further said that both Pak Army and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police were fighting against the terrorists as a team and were achieving continuous success against the common enemy. He further went on to say that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police despite limited resources performed its leading role beyond its capacity and thus earned name and fame of one of the bravest and courageous police force both at national and international level through sheer hard work and hot pursuit of terrorists. He further informed that the unparallel sacrifices rendered by both Pak Army and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police will go a long way in the annal of history. Referring to the help and cooperation of the general public in the war against terror, the Corps Commander said that dispite huge losses, both in term of human and monetary the general public stood with its security forces for and extended needed help and supported against the common enemy on every occasion. The Corps commander also informed that both Pak Army and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police will carry the same spirit of cooperation and coordination for maintenance of peace in the newly merged districts of former tribal belt.
Later on, the IGP Salahuddin Khan Mehsood presented Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police Souvenir to the Corp Commander. In the end the Corps Commander had a group photo with the senior police officers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
