IGP KP Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan met with a Delegation from Civil Service Academy, Walton Lahore.
A 32-member under trainee delegation of Civil Service Academy Walton Lahore attended a briefing on policing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at CPO Peshawar on Monday. Deputy Director Admin Farhan Ali Mirza led the delegation. The delegation is now-a-day on country wide study tour in connection with its Common Training Programme.
The delegation was briefed by DIG Headquarters Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan in detail about policing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They were informed about the organizational structure, functioning and activities, managementâ€™s practices, major achievements and challenges for the organization and its future plans. The delegation was also told about the police performance against criminals, militants, working condition and confronting challenges. The members of the delegation were also briefed on the institutional reforms i.e. establishment of Counter Terrorism department, enactment of various laws, DRCs, PAL, PAS and Specialized Schools. They were also told about Police Act 2017, its implementation, better service delivery to the public and enhanced capacity of the force.
In light of detailed briefing, the members of delegation asked various questions about policing challenges in newly merged districts, Research Analysis Wing, Police Technical Capacity Building, apolitical policing and investigation wings. To a question about media management the IGP informed that no one can deny the importance of media. He added that police and press was indispensible for each other. He said that media serve as an eye and ear for the police as the former pin point the evil elements in the society and the later was bound to adopt preventive measures for it. Regarding question about DRCs the IGP revealed that crime like murder and other heinous offences have been dwindled down to a great extent after the formation of DRCs in the province and its members are working shoulder to shoulder with the police for quick and easy dispensation of justice to the oppressed section of the community. The police chief also stressed upon the visiting delegation to take special care of the welfare of their sub-ordinates. Chief enumerated the sacrifices of the KP police shuhadas rendered in line of duty. Peace and tranquillity prevailed in the society due to the matchless sacrifices offered by every rank officer and jawan of the force and become role model for the rest of the country. At the end custom officer Nasreen Arshad thanked the IGP and his team for detailed and informative briefing and held in high esteem the performance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police especially against the terrorists.
Besides IGP, Additional IGP Headquarters Amjad Khan, Additional IGP investigation Dr. Ishtiaq Marwat, DIG Headquarters Muhammad Abid Khan, Commandant Elite Force Sadiq Kamal Orakzai were also present. Shields were also exchanged on this occasion.
