IGP KP Nasir Khan Durrani, awarded best Peshawar traffic Wardens
Decency, honesty and commitment be the hall mark of every traffic warden. IGP
The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani has said that politeness, honesty and commitment shall be the hall mark of every traffic sergeant.
This he said, while distributing cash award and commendation certificates amongst the traffic wardens on outstanding performance in the field in a ceremony held at CPO Peshawar today.
According to details in Peshawar traffic warden under different names i.e Tiger Squad, Chefs, Rapid Response Service, Static Point Ticket Officer and Fork Lifter are performing duties in different places. The real yardstick of their performance is giving more traffic challans on different traffic violations with out any public complaints in this regard. Among five DSPs, Rahim Hussain DSP head quarters was adjudged best while in 12 tigers performing duty on Ring Road, Inspector Muhammad Jamal, in 60 motorcycle chefs squad, ticket officer Sakhi Jan, in Rapid Response Squad (RRS) which is mainly responsible to challan VVIPs, ticket officer Rasheed Khan, in 20 Fork lifters, ticket officer Suhrab Khan and Static point, ticket officer Nazahat Shah were declared best traffic warden on the bases of their performance in the last three months. Addressing on the occasion the IGP Nasir Khan Durrani said that a single traffic warden represents the whole force on the road and great responsibility devolves on his shoulder to perform its duty in a better and dignified manner. The IGP pointed out that traffic duty was very difficult as beside traffic regulating traffic sergeant is under constant threat from the miscreants. He, however, directed the awardees to perform its duty with wisdom, exhibit excellent behavior with the commuters and added that politeness, honesty and commitment shall be the hall mark of every traffic sergeant. They were further directed to win the hearts and minds of the public through decent behavour which is essential part and parcel of their duty. The IGP awarded the above traffic wardens with cash prizes and commendation certificates.
