CM KP Mr.Pervez Khattak inaugurated City Patrol Force

The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani has said that '' City Petrol Force'' equipped with all latest facilities will prove as a mile stone to serve as a "First Responders" force to meet any sort of crime and emergency situation.

This he said while addressing the inaugural ceremony of city patrol force held at Malak Saad Shaheed police lines Peshawar today. Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez khattak was the chief guest on this occasion. Provincial Ministers, Member Provincial Assembly, Chief Secretary KPK, Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs department, Additional IGPs, DIGs and other high ranking civil and police officers largely attended the function. The IGP pointed out that ''First responders'' concept in any incident and emergency particularly in urban cities was in practice in all over the world where the police reached to the spot in shortest possible time. Keeping in view this concept city patrol force was introduced in Peshawar so that it could perform as first responders. He informed that initially it is being started in Peshawar city and Peshawar Cantt and later on keeping in view its performance would be extended to other districts of the province. The basic motto of the city petrol force is triple ''S'' i.e Safety, Security and Service. The functions of the force included first responders to all calls, Hot pursuit of the trouble shooters, prevention of street crimes, surveillance of anti-social elements, door knocking of persons released from jails and proclaimed offenders, POs, snap checking, information getting, public facilitation and help, responding to 15 calls and SOS alerts and coordination with emergency services. Their area of responsibility will be Peshawar city and Peshawar cantt which is divided into 20 Beats. Likewise 160 city patrol officers will work in two shifts of 8 hours each. The force had been provided 22 vehicles equipped with all modern gadgets and facilities i.e video camera, wireless system and computers. In every vehicle four jawan i.e a Sub Inspector, two Elite Force jawan and a driver will perform duty. A proper monitoring mechanism had also been worked out for the force and for this purpose a command desk had been established in the Peshawar command and control centre in Police station East cantt. where the activities of each vehicle and staff are being recorded. Similarly its beat patrol log, snap checking and communication are also being recorded. A special Sim had been installed in every vehicle which will help in showing the duty position of every vehicle and no vehicle will go out of its jurisdiction. The IGP further informed that in other countries the reaching time of this kind of force in case of any untoward happening is 12 minutes. However our force will give first respondents in less than 12 minutes. It may be recalled that the city patrol force vehicles have also the facilities of identity verification system (IVS),Vehicle Verification System (VVS), Criminal Record Verification (CRV), Incident tagging, surveillance of persons released form jail, Tenants Information System (TIS) and Traffic updates. The IGP informed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police are being equipped with latest modern facilities. Approximately the whole police record that 17 lakh data had been computerised which also included 12 lakh FIRs of last 6 years. In order to capitalize and further utilize this data, the city patrol force had been introduced. The IGP further informed that all activities of the force along with pictures and talking will be kept safe on scientific lines for record. The IGP added that KP police was the bravest force of the world and its jawan were ready every time to meet any eventuality . The IGP said that beside crime control the force will serve as a leading role in respect of serving humanity. Earlier the chief guest formally inaugurated the city patrol force by cutting the tap. The chief guest also administered oath of its duty to the force jawans.
