IGP KP MR.Salah-ud-din Khan, addressing a Police Darbar at Kohat Police Line
The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salah-ud-din Khan has said that new Police Act 2017 is being implemented in letter and spirit under which police force will be made more transparent and answerable to the public.

This, he said, while addressing a police darbar at Kohat police line today which was largely attended by every rank officers and jawans of different units and wings of Kohat region police. DIG Kohat, Commandant Police Training College Hangu, DPOs Kohat, Hangu and Karak were also present on this occasion. The Police Chief said that he was proud of KP police force of which jawan had rendered unprecedented sacrifices in line of duty in the ongoing war against terror. The IGP further informed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police was being transformed for the last few years and due to which it has been converted into a more trained, disciplined and professional force and reiterated his pledge that the process of such transformation will keep continue at any cost under every circumstances. The IGP informed the police darbar participants that every steps would be taken for the solution of genuine problems and welfare of the force and in this connection all officers have been directed to take special care of the force jawan particularly heirs of police shuhadda. He further went on to say that every SHO and SDPO will visit to the houses of shuhadda and DPOs will remain in constant touch with the families of Shahadda. The IGP disclosed that very soon a law would be enacted about shuhadda under which the RPO and DPO will be made bound for solution of all problems of police shuhadda. The IGP also informed that primary purpose of establishing police department was the protection of life, honour, property and rights of the general public and reward and punishment in the force will be decided as per police effective response towards these rights. The IGP also informed that due attention was being given to the training of the police and police operational guidelines and policy guidelines would be fully implemented and no negligence would be tolerated in this regard. The IGP further maintained that all matters i.e. transfer, posting and promotion in the force would be strictly carried on merit and no one be kept deprived of its due right and in case of any complaint every one can contact him on his cell number. The IGP also distributed cash prizes and commendation certificates amongst the police officers and jawans who exhibited excellent performance in line of duty against terrorists and other out laws in different police action from time to time.
