IGP KP Salahuddin Khan Mehsood visited DRC Gulbahar Peshawar
The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Khan Mehsood paid a surprise visit to Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) Gulbahar. The IGP met with the members of the DRC and exchanged views with them for the relief of the general public through DRCs. The members of DRC informed the IGP about the performance of the DRC by saying that the council was not only trying for peaceful solution of disputes but to eliminate the root causes of issues and convert enmity into friendship, as well. The IGP expressed satisfaction over the performance of the DRC Gulbahar. While talking to its members, the IGP informed that the establishment of DRC was as per our social norms and traditions and its basic purpose was to ensure provision of quick dispensation of justice to the down trodden section of the society. The IGP further informed that a platform has been provided to the aggrieved faction for easy dispensation of justice in form of DRC and hoped that its members will leave no stone unturned for easy justice to the poor people. The IGP further went on to say that DRC members were performing their duty for noble cause for which they will be rewarded by Al-Mighty Allah. The IGP said that a formal meeting of all DRCs members will be convened very soon in which suggestions will be sought from the members for further improvement of the performance of DRCs so as to make these bodies as per expectations of general public. Earlier, the IGP also visited traffic police headquarters where he inspected driving licence system. The IGP directed the concerned quarters to further improve the system and ensure provision of more relief and facilities to the driving licence seekers at the center. The IGP appreciated CCPO Peshawar for issuance of driving licence to minorities on priority basis.
