IGP KP met with 7-Member delegation of National Peace Committee
The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Khan Mehsood has said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police is the custodian of the rights of the people and vowed every effort would be placed to ensure these rights irrespective of their cast and creed at all cost. This, he said, while talking to 7 members delegation of National Peace Committee for Interfaith Harmony Pakistan which called on him at CPO Peshawar today. The delegation was led by Allama Muhammad Shoaib. The IGP pointed out that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police responsibly has been derived from the constitution of Pakistan which was as per attached expectation of the general public of the country and police was bound to safeguard the rights of every segments of the society given to them by the state. The IGP informed that police will fulfill its responsibility to all segment of the society without any discrimination. The IGP informed the delegation that the basic purpose of the police duty was to promote peace, tranquility, harmony and brotherhood in the society where everyone is treated equally and mannerism and equality is the hall mark of everyone. The IGP said that we should respect each others religion by adhering to our own religion respectively so as to pave way for congenial peaceful atmosphere in the society. The IGP also informed that sectarianism and hatred attitude was the root cause of the degradation of any society and we all shall preach peace and brotherhood in the lights of teaching enshrined in our religion respectively. The IGP further added that our religion is full of such instances in which particularly the Muslims offered sacrifices for non-Muslims and assured the delegation that the rights of the minority would be safeguarded at all Cost. The IGP also informed that well calculated strategy has been adopted by police for eradication of The menace of the narcotics espically the “Ice” from the society. The member of the delegation thanked the IGP for sparing time for them. They held in high esteem, the sacrifices rendered by the KP Police in war against terror and termed it as unparallel in the anal of police history. They also assured their support to the police for maintaining much needed peace and brotherhood in the society. The other members of the delegation included Provincial Deputy General Secretary Dr, John G, Vice Provincial Chairman Gul Charan Singh, District Chairman Peshawar Iqbal Shah Haidari, Information Secretary Muhammad Zubair, Provincial Works Chairman Haji Rehman and Provincial member Pinder Singh.
