Bajaur Delegation visit to CPO
The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan has said that the line drawn between Pakhtoons has been vanished completely, the rich identity of tribal people will further flourish in new set up and policing of the people, for the people and by the people will be introduced there.
These views were expressed by the IGP while addressing a Qaumi Jirga of Bajaur elites held in police headquarters Peshawar today. A large number of local elders of all tribes particularly Utman Khel, Salarzai and Tarqan represented in the Jirga.
Addtional IGP Commandant Elite Force, Commandant Frontier Reserve Police, RPO Malakand, DIsG Headquarters, Finance & Procurement, Investigation, CTD, Training, Directors PCU and Safe City Project, AIsG Establishment, Legal and Welfare, DPO Bajaur, Khyber and other high ranking police officers were also present on this occasion. The Provincial Police Officer informed that former tribal belt was torch bearer in respect of good values and rich traditions and the grace and beauty attached with Pakhtun gear i.e Qameez and Shalwar are matchless and announced that police will perform its duties in the newly merged districts in former levies uniform. The IGP pointed out that police force officers have strictly been directed to win hearts and minds of the local people and give due respect to them as per their customs and traditions . The IGP revealed that Bajaur was the stronghold of true Pakhtoon culture and traditions added that after bringing these areas into National mainstream, a new era of prosperity and development will ushered and every individual will be ensured equal opportunity to achieve zenith of success through sheer hard work and talent acumen . The IGP assured the participants of the Jirga that he will participate as their representative in every official meeting and will not only raise voice for their legitimate rights but will strive hard for their rights. The IGP reminded the Jirga members that the govt was fully committed in bringing revolutionary changes in the lives of the local people and all their apprehensions about the new setup would be removed in an effective manner. The IGP disclosed that the prime Minister of Pakistan was taking keen personal interest in the prosperity and development of the newly merged districts and he had been asking about it with regular progress report. The IGP maintained that it was herculean task to replace one and half century old system and the two ordinances promulgated in this connection will soon be enacted as a law from the Assembly. The IGP further narrated that the soil of Bajaur was very fertile and there was no dearth of talent and intelligence. He added that the local people will be equipped with better education so as to enable them to shoulder high responsibility and lead the country from the front in every field. The IGP revealed that the employees would be provided protection through exemplary best service structure. The IGP on the request of Jirga members directed DPO Bajaur to accompany the Jirga on their return and start regular duty and stay in the area.
Earlier, the Bajaur elites i.e. Malik Jalauddin, Haseeb Khan Salarzai, Haji Bahader, Aurganzeb Inqilabi, Haji Malik Bahader, Mian Sahib, Sher Bahader and Malik Akbar Khan in their speeches welcomed the new system and presented some suggestions for bringing further improvement in it. The IGP presented police insignia (police flag) to the elders of Utmankhel and Salarzai tribes and took oath from them of its sanctity and security in every circumstances. On this occasion pray was also offered for unity of the people of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, peace, tranquility and integrity of the country. The Jirga members have also a photo session with IGP.
