Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan attended a Dinner at Kumrat.
The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan attended a dinner at Kumrat, Jirga Masharan and elected public representatives of Kumrat also attended. As a goodwill gesture the Jirga members presented traditional local Pakol and Shawl چادر to the IGP. The Jirga members welcomed the IGP on the land famous for its traditional hospitality. They informed the IGP about the impending challenges and difficulties to the tourist resorts at Kumrat and stressed the need for remedial measures. The Jirga members also informed the IGP about the steps taken and strategy adopted by local people for maintenance of law and order in insurgency and also assured their all possible help for peace and tranquility in the scenic valley in future too. They, keeping in view, the importance of the area and great surge in population demanded DSP circles for tehsil Kumrat and Kalkot separately, upgradation of police post Patrak to police station level, quota for the local people in police constable enlistment and regularization of special police officers.
The IGP in his address on the occasion said that Kumrat has become first choice for the tourists due to its national and captivating beauty and added that positive changes can be ensured in the lives of the local people by developing the tourists’ spots in the area. The IGP urged the participants to further expedite their efforts for safety of the natural beauty of the scenic valley so that the socio-economic condition of the local people can be further improved. The IGP also disclosed that the Prime Minister of Pakistan was taking keen interest in the development of the area so as to persuade the tourists to Kumrat. The IGP also revealed that tourism policing was being launched to further boost up tourism in the area. The IGP gave patient hearing to their demands and termed it genuine and assured fulfilling of all their demands as soon as possible.
