Video Conference at CPO.
The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi has directed police high ups to further tighten the noose around the neck of the terrorists and narcotics smugglers in the ongoing campaign in their jurisdiction.
These directives were given to the Mardan Region Police high ups in an online video conference from CPO today. In the conference the concerned police officers briefed the IGP about the steps taken against terrorism, narcotics and smuggling in their respective districts. In the conference DPO Mardan informed the IGP that Mardan police have launched regular search and Strike Operations and Snap checking for prevention of terrorism and smuggling. He added that joint search and strike operations were conducted in the mountains of Rama and its adjoining areas against the wanted terrorists. He said that Drones were also used in these operations which resulted into the arrest of several dreaded terrorists.
As per directives of the IGP Mardan Region registered a total of 2338 cases against the narcotics smugglers during the last five months. During this period 2562 narcotics sellers were arrested and 3748.26 kg narcotics were recovered from their possession which included 3354.598 kg Charas, 298.089 kg Opium, 65.271 kg Heroin, 30.309 kg Ice and 1816.5 liter Liquor.
It may be recalled that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police during the current year has recovered contraband items worth millions of Rupees which included Non-Custom paid vehicles, foreign cloths, Vehicles spare parts, Mobile phones, Electricity appliances and other items.
IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi showed satisfaction over the performance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police in eliminating terrorism, narcotics and smuggling and said that unprecedented sacrifices of the police force and untiring efforts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police will lead to a happy and peaceful society.
The IGP directed the police high ups to ensure provision of easy justice to the general police at their door steps and direct the sub-ordinates to exhibit decent behavior with the masses and solve their confronting problems on priority basis and those found in negligence of duty should be dealt with iron hands. The IGP while taking strong notice of the violence against woman in Nowshera, said that no compromise would be made on human rights, particularly of woman and children, and directed the police to initiate departmental action against those involved in this ugly incident.
