Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi presides over high level meeting to review Police performance regarding vehicles, narcotics and arms seized and disposed off today at CPO Peshawar.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, in light of the orders of the honourable court, have handed over 3921 vehicles and 22722 Arms to the real owners as well as disposed off 12144 kg narcotics during the last 3 years.
These details were presented to the Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi during a video link conference held at CPO Peshawar today. CCPO Peshawar and all Regional Police Officers briefed the IGP in detail about the measures and steps taken in this regard. Addl: IGP HQRs, DIG HQRs, DIG Ops and other high ranking police officers attended the conference.
In the briefing the IGP was told that during the last 3 years, in light of the court orders, Peshawar police has handed over 553 vehicles, Mardan region police 2116 vehicles, Bannu region police 221 vehicles and Kohat region police 1031 vehicles to its owners.
Likewise, in respect of narcotics Peshawar police disposed off 6819 kg narcotics, Mardan region police 373 kg, Malakand region police 3005 kg, Bannu region police 275 kg and DIKhan region police disposed off 1672 kg narcotics.
Similarly, the IGP was also briefed in detailed about the KP police performance against the arms and ammunition. The IGP was told that during the last 3 years, as per orders of the court, Peshawar police returned 4525 weapons, Mardan region police 10707, Kohat region police 5374, Bannu region police returned 1118 and DIKhan region police returned 998 numbers of weapons to the real owners.
The IGP Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi has appreciated the performance of KP police in connection with the return of vehicles and weapons to the owners and disposal of narcotics and directed the police high ups to speed up operations against the people involved in illegal activities. In the meeting it was decided that cases would be registered in cases of lost case properties. It was also decided and directed to make videos and pictures at the time of seizure, disposal and handing over of vehicles, arms and narcotics and made part of the record.
