Inspector General of police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi visited district Dir Lower today. On arrival at Khursheed Khan Shaheed police lines Timergara the IGP was warmly welcomed by RPO Malakand Abdul Ghafoor Afridi, DPO Dir (L) Captain Retired Liaqat Ali Malik and other high ranking police officials. A smart contingent of police presented guard of honour. The IGP laid floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-shuhada and offered fateha. IGP KP also planted a tree in the police lines.
The IGP KP visited Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) and met with respected members of the council. The IGP appreciated DRC's performance and said that dispute resolution councils have served the people by amicably resolving more than 42000 disputes across the province and said all this was possible due to the hard work and diligence of DRC members. He said that due to the honesty and impartiality of DRC members, the confidence of the people in DRCs was restored and the public respect its decisions. The IGP offered fateha for the departed soul of DRC member who died recently.
Later on, IGP inaugurated Police Khidmat Center. DPO Dir(L) gave a detailed briefing to IGP and said that all services will be provided to the public under one roof in a corporate environment. IGP was informed that people will visit Khidmat center for character certificate, police clearance certificate, registering complaints, acquisition of driving license, vehicle verification etc. The IGP appreciated this initiative and said that it is our responsibility to provide services to the public at their doorstep and said that it will further bridge the gap between public and police. DPO Dir (L) presented portrait of the IGP and set of books to the IGP KP on this occasion.
During visit to Dir (L) IGP KP met with the families of the police shuhada and distributed Ramadan package. Speaking on this occasion, IGP said that the police martyrs are our pride, who laid down their precious lives, to eliminate terrorism and established peace in the country. The IGP KP said that we will not leave the families of the martyrs alone and all the resources are being used for their welfare.
Meanwhile, IGP chaired a high-level meeting which was attended by RPO Malakand, DPO Dir (L), all SDPOs and high ranking officers of CTD and Special Branch. The IGP KP was given a detailed briefing on law & order and policing in the district. Speaking on the occasion, IGP said that no one would be allowed to sabotage peace in the region and said that miscreants and anti-state elements would be dealt with iron-hand. The IGP directed the senior police officials to further strengthen ties with other law enforcing agencies and closely monitor the activities of the miscreants so that their nefarious designs could be thwarted in a timely manner. The IGP also met with a delegation comprising of Chamber of Commerce Dir (L), Traders, journalist community, lawyers and elites of the area.
Later on, IGP paid surprise to police station Talash. The IGP inspected various parts of the police station and appreciated the police personnel for performing their duties efficiently. The IGP awarded SHO, Muharrar and wireless incharge of police station Talash on good performance.
