Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi visits a private hospital in Peshawar to inquire after the health of injured SI Mumtaz Qureshi.
The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi visited a private hospital in Peshawar where he inquired after the health of SHO Police Station Wapda Mumtaz Qureshi, who was injured in a terrorist attack in Bannu.
On arrival at the hospital, the IGP went straight to the injured SI Mumtaz Qureshi's bed and inquired about his health and presented him a bouquet of flowers. The IGP updated himself from the doctors present on the spot about the treatment provided to the injured Mumtaz Qureshi so far and directed them to provide him best possible treatment. It is worth mentioning that on May 2, 2021, Mumtaz Qureshi was attacked in the jurisdiction of Police Station Basiyakhel and was seriously injured. Mumtaz Qureshi was later shifted to Peshawar for treatment, where he is being treated at a private hospital. Speaking on the occasion, the IGP said that an attack on police was tantamount to an attack on the state and said that brave officers and men of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police would crush any such move.
The IGP said that the Bannu police stood rock solid in front of terrorists and criminals and were fighting bravely and successfully foiling all their nefarious designs of terrorizing the people. He said that these unprecedented sacrifices of Bannu police would not go in vain and every drop of their blood was making a new history of success in the journey of peace and prosperity.
The IGP said that the entire force was proud of the valour and courage exhibited by the brave sons of the soil and reiterated that the terrorists and militants would the flushed from the society.
It is worth mentioning that there had been a series of attacks on Bannu police in which HC Siddiqullah was martyred on April 15, 2021, SI Mumtaz Qureshi was seriously injured on May 2, while constable Mudassar was martyred on May 3. Bannu police went after these terrorists and succeeded in arresting them. Also, some of the most wanted terrorists and criminals were killed in encounters with Police. Afsar Khan and Jamshed involved in attack on SI Mumtaz Qureshi and Salman involved in the martyrdom of HC Siddiqullah had been killed in police encounters. The accused involved in the martyrdom of Constable Mudassar had been arrested. Similarly, the notorious car lifter and criminal Fahim, wanted in 26 cases, had also been killed in a police encounter.
The IGP highly appreciated the successful operations of the Bannu Police against anti-state elements and announced special rewards in recognition of the services of the Bannu Police for maintaining peace in Bannu.
