Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi presides over a high level meeting of the RPOs to review law and order situation in the province today.
The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi presided over a meeting, held with the Regional Police Officers via Video link today, to review law and order situation in the province.
Regional Police Officers (RPOs) gave detailed briefings to the IGP KP about the law and order in their respective regions. They informed the IGP KP about the steps taken to maintain law and order, countering terrorism and action taken under the National Action Plan (NAP) during the current year.
The IGP KP was informed that a result oriented campaign was launched against smuggling of narcotics and illegal weapons. Police recovered 12462.216 kg narcotics during the current year which included 11420.745 kg Charas, 408.025 kg Opium, 413.027 kg Heroin, 220.419 kg Ice, 13997 bottles and 2510 liters of Liquor. The IGP was further informed that during this period 13217 accused were arrested involved in narcotics dealing. Similarly, the IGP was informed that a huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered during the current year which included 823 Rifles, 2689 Shot Guns, 15267 Pistols, 828922 Cartridges, 1172 Klashinkovs, 186 Kalakovs, 118 Hand Grenades, 2 Rocket Launchers, 2057 Dynamites and 2 Bombs.
The IGP was further updated that under the NAP a total of 6213 Search & Strike operations were conducted in which 29823 criminals were arrested and 8642 arms & 289615 rounds were recovered. Moreover, during these operations 103298 houses and 33792 hotels were checked and on violation 4631 and 517 FIRs were registered respectively against the violators. Likewise, 31396 Snap Checking were conducted during which 19351 suspects were taken into police custody and 6442 arms & 243432 rounds were recovered. Also, 447 illegal Afghans were detained for not having legal documents and 422 cases were registered against them under Foreign Act. The IGP was also updated that on misuse of loudspeakers a total of 397 cases were registered and 405 persons were taken into police custody. Likewise 14413 Bus addas were checked and on violation 16 cases were registered.
The IGP Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi appreciated the police steps taken under the National Action Plan and directed the participants of the conference to keep close liaison with other Law Enforcing Agencies and take stern action against the anti-state elements and those disturbing peace and tranquillity in the province. The IGP informed that police was performing its front line role against Covid-19 with great success added that police officials are being vaccinated with break neck speed on priority basis. The IGP maintained that KP police had always achieved success beyond attached expectations because of their God-gifted qualities and hoped that in future too they will maintain the same level of success against the terrorists and criminals and will achieve success against them on every front.
