A Contract agreement regarding Safe City Project Peshawar was signed between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and Consultant at Central Police Office Peshawar today.

Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Moazzam Jah Ansari, Project Director Safe City Peshawar Waqar Ahmad, Project Consultant Team and other high ups attended the ceremony. DIG Waqar Ahmad Project Director Safe City Peshawar and Mr. Jawad Ayub Baig CEO, M/S Carbonate PVT signed the agreement. It may be recalled that Safe City Project Peshawar is to make the urban areas of Peshawar safe and secure through technology driven efforts, which is being materialized with keen interest and special efforts of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan. The project a true replica of modern technology will user a revolution in the administrative and economy of the local people. The main purpose of the project is to combat terrorism and other crimes particularly street crimes, car lifting and motorcycles theft through the best use of latest gadgetries. With the installation of high resolution CCTV cameras every point will come under preview of the police and it will not be possible for law breakers to avoid from the camera eyes.

915 points have been identified under this project. Likewise beside Optical Fibre Cable on 1000 kilometres, 25 LTE Towers would be installed. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police integrated Command Control and Communication Centre 3 would be established at Police Station Sharqi. Main silent features of the mega project included surveillance, integrated Emergency Response, Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) and Electronic Evidence collection. In 1st phase it will be started in Hayatabad as a pilot project which will be completed in short span of 5 Months.

While talking on the occasion, the IGP Moazzam Jah Ansari informed that Safe City Project Peshawar will usher a new era of latest security apparatus in Peshawar. The IGP further informed that the present government have taken several steps for enhancing the capability of the KP Police. He particularly praised the Chief Minister Mehmood Khan for his yeoman service and guidance to the KP Police and added that Safe City Project Peshawar was an ample proof in this regard. The IGP assured full support and help for the in-time completion of this gigantic project and hoped that the project will prove a mile stone in respect of modern security arrangements.
