IGP Nasir Khan Durrani, visit to NAB office Peshawar
The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani has said that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was playing pivotal role in the over all development of the country.

This he said, while addressing the high ranking officers of NAB during his visit to the organization at Hayatabad today. Director General NAB Major (R) Shehzad Saleem was also present on this occasion. The police chief pointed out that duty of both the police force and the NAB was almost similar in nature and great responsibilities devolve on their shoulders to ensure justice in their action against the target. The IGP termed corruption the menace of all evils and stressed the need for a "Hong Kong" model against it by implementing its three main pillars i.e elimination of discretionary powers, making things transparent and across the board action in letter and spirit. The IGP maintained that all causes and opportunities of corruption should be effectively plugged and the process should be streamlined for achieving the desired results. The IGP held in high esteem the performance of the institution by saying that it had effectively established its credibility and Pakistan was the only country in South Asia which had showed far better performance. He further went on to say that the recovery of the NAB during the last two years was 3 time more of the recovery of the last 14 years which bespoke volume of the professional commitment and better performance of this institution. The IGP prevailed upon the high ranking officers of the NAB to adopt diagnostic approach to fulfill their professional responsibilities and never resort to injustice. The IGP also suggested for establishing research and development cell in the NAB. On this occasion the IGP also dwelt upon in detail on the steps against corruption, out sourcing police enlistment and promotion and streamlining purchasing process in the police force. Later on talking to mediamen the IGP said that the terrorist was targeting the innocent citizen of the country and stressed the need for a participatory approach to fight against it. To a question the IGP disclosed that involvement of foreign hands should not be ruled out in the attack on Bacha Khan University Charsadda as so for sufficient proofs had also been established in this connection.

Earlier, the IGP hold one on one meeting with Director General NAB in his office. On this occasion shields were also exchanged. The IGP also registered his feelings/comments in the visitor's book.
