Acting IGP visits police posts situated on boundary with tribal areas.
The Acting Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Syed Akhtar Ali Shah today paid a surprise visit to police posts in the peripheral areas of Peshawar situated along the boundary with Khyber Agency.

During the visit the Acting IGP visited Bara Qadeem police check post and Saifen police post which owing to its contiguity to the tribal belt have remained vulnerable and witnessed heavy attacks from militants operating from the tribal belt. The Acting IGP interacted with the constabulary deployed at these check posts and enquired about their preparedness and welfare. The Acting IGP went round various parts of the posts as well as residential rooms and expressed dissatisfaction over the dilapidated condition of the post as well as residential quarters of the jawan. He directed the concerned quarters to take immediate steps for improving the duty and living condition in these posts. He praised the jawans for their bravery and termed them as pride of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police. The Acting IGP also met with the local people gathered on the occasion and enquired from them about the police duty and law and order in their areas. While talking to the locals the Acting IGP said that terrorism was a national issue and added that terrorists cannot lower the moral of the police force and the general public through their nefarious activities. The Acting IGP appealed to the locals to keep strict vigilance on their surroundings and in case of any suspicious activity inform the local police. The people while praising the duty of police stated that they would stand by police and would thwart the despicable designs of militants in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police. The Acting IGP commended the general public for their unflinching support in the ongoing war against terror and hoped their support with the police will work as deciding factor against militancy. Meanwhile the Acting IGP expressed dissatisfaction on the traffic management in Qamar Din Ghari Chowk and directed traffic authorities to further expedite their efforts and ensure smooth flow of traffic round the clock in the chowk.
